Sutton-Clark Supply, Inc. was founded in 1960 as an industrial rubber and fire equipment distributor. The original founders were Garnet W. Sutton, G. Graham Sutton, (father and son) and John G. Clark and Mary Clark (husband and wife). Between all of them, there was in excess of 125 years experience in selling these products. The corporate headquarters is currently located at 1705 Brook Road, Richmond, Virginia.
By the middle of the 1960’s, the company began fabricating gaskets and selling various other sealing products. This product group has now grown to 40% of the current $5,000,000 annual sales. The other areas of concentration are the industrial and hydraulic components that make up another 40%; the conveyor belting and accessories group (15%); and the fire extinguisher sales and service group (5%).
In 1995, the company acquired Hydrair, which, at the time, was predominantly a pneumatic and hydraulic focused company located in Norfolk, Virginia. Currently, Sutton-Clark Supply, Inc. is still integrating it’s entire product line into that location.

With that acquisition, the company now has 35 employees and is poised to grow further. Future growth is expected both locally and by acquiring other distribution in geographical areas not yet served.

The markets served are very diverse such as agriculture, lumber, quarry, paper, construction, and ship building, just to name a few. The company has been fortunate to enjoy both MRO and OEM accounts that serve most of the above industries.

We are marketing through both direct and agent sales methods. As the company expands, there will be ever increasing needs in these areas.

Throughout all of this, the corporate mission remains to be recognized as a leading material and service provider of Quality Hose and Assemblies, Gaskets, Seals, and Belting products.
